College Buddies Travel Diary: Guimaras Island

Armed with Guimaras map, we got from the tourism booth in the port of Guimaras. Shannah, Jenny and I, decided to once again explore this Island that we get to see from the city of Iloilo, every time we passed by Iloilo Public Market or hear mass  in Sta. Maria Church.
Just a year after college and with a not very promising career yet, we still take on a trip, giving in to our wanderlust.
First Stop: Daliran Cave
We rode the tricyle going to the cave area, not far from the town……

Second Stop: Villa La Chesca
It feels like we are just visiting a friend’s house, inside the gated property; a swimming pool, a gazebo and a garden with rows & rows of bromeliads.

Third Stop: Balaang Bukid
Every time the ship enters Iloilo Strait, this is the landmark that welcomes every visitor to the island. The big Cross on top of the hill. The place is famous to devotees during Holy Week for “panaad” or the Way of the Cross.

Fourth Stop: Macopo Falls

Fifth Stop: Trappestine Monastery
Aside from the Balaang Bukid, it’s one of the famed destinations on the island. With rows and rows of Cashew Trees and Mango Trees within the property, the place is perfect for those who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Till our next trip………Be passionate & fashionable………

College Buddies Travel Diaries: Sabang Baybay, Guimaras

Seven years ago, days after our college graduation, I explored Guimaras Island with my college buddies, this also serve as our farewell party, a despidida to each of us. As we all each are about to take on a separate journey of our life.
Jenny, Shannah, Jethsemae, Rosalinda and I, decided to explore the other side of the Island of Guimaras.
I can no longer remember the details of the trip, except that we took a van for about an hour, until we reach a Sabang Baybay.
Trivia: “baybay”- is an Ilonggo word for beachfront
Let me share to you our escapade, seven years ago;

Thanks to my ever reliable Canon Camera, can’t remember the model, it still uses film, my first ever camera that I bought from my savings out of my school allowance.
For more travels to come........

Patti's Grill and Seafood Reastaurant (a seafoody lunch)

It's another Saturday for the whole family, with Papa, Mama, me, my sister and little brother, after Mama's LBP date, hehe, its Mama's weekly checking of GF Farm's account. Time for lunch, and this time its Patti's Grill and Seafood Restaurant located at General Santos Drive, Koronadal City.
behind is the glass partition to their kitchen
The place is so airy and relax, its interiors are mostly made up of bamboos and woods and one can even see how the food is prepared at the glass walled kitchen.

For lunch we ordered, my sister in particular, since it was her summer vacation, (an off from Med. School); Mixed Seafoods, Grilled Hito, Soy Chicken, Pink Salmon Sinigang sa Miso and for drinks Watermelon Shake.
Grilled Hito
Pink Salmon Sinigang sa Miso
Soy Chicken
Mixed Seafoods
Mixed Seafoods tastes so good that it got my browie's taste approval and so is the Soy Chicken for me. Soy Chicken's sauce in particular do add a lot of flavor to the steamed whole chicken.
Prices are so affordable that Mama paid about 900 bucks for the whole lunch.

28 years of Blessings

It's no longer a dream, its reality, its February 19, 20011, I AM 28 YEARS OLD........have I done much with the 28 years of blessings in my life.......
Like how our Lord's love is unconditional, so is the question of have I done enough in this world, on the day of my birthday I decided to no longer asked myself of the same question. But to live my life one day at a time, to live life to the fullest, live, love and laugh.
his 4th bday....the day he was born in our hearts
I wake up with a big hug and kiss from my browie, yes its my little browie's 4th birthday also, the day he was born in our hearts. He is one of the greatest gift not just to me but to our family, he was given to us on my 24th birthday.
This was the simpliest birthday I had and the most memorable. But still Papa insist on having "kambing" (adobo and kinilaw), Mama cooked "Adobong Manok " and Lola Auring had her "biko na malagkit", Ma Be made Seafood Orzo.....its still a birthday so full, stomach so full.

a birthday service...

feeding the kids
A week after I was able to do my gift-giving, I went to Sitio San Jose, Kablon, in our church's Outreach Church, ther I gave my gift to them. That small activity is my thanksgiving for all the blessings I have for the past 28 years. Also its an honor to my parents to the good life that they have given me.
And the promise I made to the children, to study hard, that on school opening I'll be giving them "school supplies."

THANK YOU LORD!!!!
